Liverpool boss Sloter confirmed the latest injuries in his squad in his pre-match press conference, with Federico Chiesa set to miss the Champions League clash with Bologna, while Jota is expected to be available.
Slot said that Chiesa failed to show up for the team's training session on Tuesday afternoon due to some problems he had. Slot said, "Federico (Chiesa) was training with us yesterday, but today he encountered some conditions, so I don't expect him to be in the lineup tomorrow."
On Chiesa's absence, Slotter expressed regret: "It's a shame for us, but even more so for him. He was looking forward to a Champions League night at Anfield, especially considering we'll be playing an Italian team. It's a real shame for him but I'm sure he'll have many more opportunities like this in the future."
When asked about the length of Chiesa's possible absence, Slot said it was hard to be sure: "It's always hard to predict because it happened yesterday, but I don't expect him to be out for a long time. However, he will definitely be unavailable for this game. We'll have to wait and see if he can return to the team on Saturday. After that it's international day."
Meanwhile, another striker Wakata also missed Liverpool's training on Tuesday. However, Slot was optimistic about Wakita's prospects of playing: "Wakita missed two training sessions after the game against Wolves and he did so because of a knock. But I expect him to be with the team tomorrow and be able to play against Bologna."
