
Manchester City defeated Bratislava 4-0 on the road in the second round of the Champions League stage in the early hours of this morning. After the match, Manchester City's striker Foden was interviewed by TNT Sports to share his thoughts on the match.
Foden said that the game will not be easy and beating Bratislava will be a tough task for them. He emphasized that they had to give enough respect to their opponents as Bratislava created an incredible atmosphere at the venue. Nonetheless, City managed to pull it off and came away with a 4-0 victory. Foden also mentioned that he personally would have had more chances to score in this game, while the rest of his teammates also had good shots on goal. Even though the score of 4-0 was already very pleasing to them, Foden believes that they could have scored a few more goals.
Speaking about his performance, Foden said he was delighted to be back on the pitch and score. He revealed that he did have a slow start to the season after the Euros, but is now getting back into the swing of things and is feeling pretty good.
In addition, Foden also talked about the players of Manchester City's youth team. He said that it is a dream come true for him to be able to play in the Champions League with his youth teammates. They have worked hard for this and now they finally have the chance to show their strength in the Champions League. Foden made a special mention of McCarty, who he said has had a couple of loan spells but is now doing very well. Foden believes that McCarty is a talented player and they will need him for all games this season, so he needs to be ready.
Finally, Foden talked about the team's goals. He said that after the last draw, they have to win this game as they are aiming to reach the top half of the Champions League. As things stand now, they are on the right track.
