In an in-depth interview on Oct. 2 BST, legendary Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard spoke highly of Arsenal's recent stellar performances and praised manager Mikel Arteta in particular for his coaching ability and the team's overall progress.
Lampard said that Arsenal, under the leadership of Arteta, has gradually grown from a young team with unlimited potential to a competitive powerhouse that is expected to compete for titles in all competitions. Especially after the injury of Manchester City's core player Rodney, Arsenal's prospects of winning the Premier League are even more optimistic, and are even regarded as the favorites to win the Premier League and other tournaments this season.
"Arteta's plan has been in place for a couple of years now and Arsenal's growth is there for all to see." Lampard said in the interview, "They have also shown remarkable strength in the Champions League, and although they have not yet reached their peak, they have been making steady progress. Arteta's transformation of the team is all-encompassing, from the tactical system to the mentality of the players, all of them have undergone remarkable changes."
Lampard also made special mention of Arsenal's reinforcement strategy. He believes that Arsenal has done a very good job in attracting reinforcements, not only bringing in strong players, but also focusing on the overall balance and age structure of the team. Such a reinforcement strategy has laid a solid foundation for Arsenal's future development.
On Arsenal's dream of winning the Champions League, Lampard said, "It's not easy, but Arsenal already have the strength and mentality to compete for the Champions League title. They are getting closer and closer to this goal, they just need to stay calm and stable at key moments to make this historic breakthrough possible."
