Aston Villa loanee, Louis Barry, had joined Barcelona at the age of 16 and caused a stir. In a recent interview with Sky Sports, he fondly recalled training with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
Barry had an outstanding season with the Barcelona U19s, scoring on his debut and earning him the opportunity to train with the first team as a result. In this rare experience, he had the honor of playing alongside two legendary strikers, Messi and Suarez.
Talking about this experience, Barry could not hide his excitement: "Yes, Messi and Suarez were there. I was fortunate enough to train with them once, and although that training was not very intense and mainly consisted of set-piece drills, it has been an immensely valuable experience for me. I was called up from the B team, but I can proudly say 'I trained with Messi'."
Barry also revealed that he still keeps photos with Messi and Suarez: "I have a couple of photos with them on my phone, taken with Suarez and Messi. I asked them, 'Can I take a picture?' They all replied 'yes' in a very friendly way. On the training ground, everyone kept a professional attitude, but outside of training, when I saw them, they were really nice people. A lot of my teammates have asked for a photo and they've all been very accommodating and not standoffish."
This experience of training with Messi and Suarez has certainly added to Barry's career. He said that it will inspire him to continue to work hard and move towards higher goals. At the same time, he also expressed his deep gratitude to FC Barcelona for giving him this rare opportunity.
