Competition Cycle: The overall time span is 6 months. Taking into account the New Year, Chinese New Year, and allowing time for the national team to prepare for and participate in the qualifying tournament for the Paris Olympics, the regular season of the league is divided into two phases. The first phase runs from October 17, 2023 to January 1, 2024 and the second phase runs from February 17, 2024 to March 14, 2024. The All-Star Weekend event takes place on March 16-17, 2024, and the playoff and finals phases run from March 19 to April 21st.
Regular season tournament format:
Format: Home and away double round-robin system.
Number of rounds and matches: The regular season consists of 38 rounds of 9 matches each, totaling 342 regular season matches. This means that each team plays separate home and away games against each other, giving teams more opportunities to showcase their strengths in different venue environments.
Playoff system: The playoffs are organized in two out of three games, which increases the suspense and intensity of the matches, and puts higher requirements on the stability and performance of the teams at critical moments. The higher ranked teams have the home field advantage in the playoffs, which to a certain extent also increases the spectacle and competitiveness of the game.
Finals System: The Finals is a best-of-five series with a 2-2-1 schedule, i.e., the top-ranked team in the regular season will play two home games first, followed by the opponent's two home games, and then return to the home court of the top-ranked team in the regular season if they need to play a fifth game.
