College years:
Lillard played four years for Webster State. During his freshman season, he contributed 11.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game, and was selected as the Big Sky Conference Rookie of the Year and as a member of the league's first-team All-Conference selection.

In the 2012 draft, the Portland Trail Blazers selected Lillard in the first round, sixth overall. In his rookie season, he played all 82 games, averaging 19 points, 3.1 rebounds and 6.5 assists, shooting 36.8% from three-point range, and was named Rookie of the Month for six consecutive months, and unanimously selected as Rookie of the Year.
