The Norwegian national team recently announced a new roster, but the much-anticipated star Ödgård did not make the cut. In response, Norwegian manager Sol Bakken spoke at length in an interview about the injury situation of Ödgård and how it affects the national team.
Solbakken said, "Ödgö is currently far from making the national team roster. We need to keep a close eye on his recovery during this national team tournament. While there is a possibility that he could come back, it depends entirely on the progress of his rehabilitation. As a matter of fact, I haven't been in contact with him for four or five days, so I don't know much about his exact recovery yet."
On the absence of Udgall, Solbakken admits that it will definitely have some impact on the team. "Oscar Bob and Ödgö will be out at the same time and it would obviously be naïve to say that it doesn't have an impact. However, we don't need to worry too much. In the previous game against Austria, Ödgö did not play in the last 35 minutes, but we still managed to win the game."
Solbakken further emphasized, "So it's not that we think we can't win without Ödgö. But there is no doubt that Ödkö is very important for the team. In recent years, he has been one of the best performers in every game. His absence will definitely give us some challenges in lining up, but we are confident and capable of meeting those challenges."
