In the 2nd round of the UEFA Champions League, Aston Villa defeated their strong rival Bayern Munich 1-0 with the advantage of home field. After the match, Villa manager Emery was interviewed by TNT Sports, sharing his joy and outlook for the future.

Emery couldn't hide his excitement: "Today's win means a lot to us. The way we play, who we are playing against, plus the fact that it's 42 years since we've played at home in the Champions League again, all make today a special day. We value this opportunity and want to stay playing in Europe on a consistent basis."

Speaking about Duran, who scored the only goal of the match, Emery spoke highly of him: "We are working hard with Duran and his attitude is crucial. Whether he plays 90 minutes, 60 minutes or 30 minutes, he is fully focused every minute he is on the pitch. Both of our strikers were excellent today, which is a great boost for Duran and the whole team."

Emery also made special mention of Bayern goalkeeper Martinez: "Against a strong team like Bayern, it is vital to show our strength. Martinez's performance today was excellent, he made a number of great saves."

Emery is confident about the team's future: "We must try to play well in every game. Today, we played well and won. Maybe, we can go all the way to the top 8 of the Champions League."
