In a recent interview with France Football News, French soccer star Petit gave his opinion on Griezmann's decision to announce his withdrawal from the national team and expressed his concerns about the future of the French team.
Petit began by paying heartfelt tribute to Griezmann's contribution to the national team: "Griezmann is one of the greatest players in the history of French soccer and his achievements for the national team are remarkable. It's great to see you in a France shirt. So I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Griezmann."
However, Petit also expressed his concerns about Griezmann's departure: "Griezmann's departure will be a huge challenge for France manager Didier Deschamps. His performance on the field was unique, both in terms of talent and character, making him an indispensable member of the team. I wish Deschamps the best of luck, but losing Griezmann will be sorely missed by the national team."
Petit further noted that Griezmann's departure will make it even more challenging for France in terms of possession and overall fitness: "I am concerned that we cannot always rely on individual ability, but need to improve overall fitness in possession. This is the main gap between what we have seen so far and the tactical philosophy that Deschamps wants to bring to the field. With Griezmann out of the team, this gap could become even more pronounced."
