May 19, 2011 - In the final round of the Group C match of the J-League Cup, Yokohama FC suffered a 0-2 defeat to Urawa Ruby, and was badly screened.

Urawa opened the scoring in the third minute of the first half with a cross from Yoshiho Koizumi by Takayoshi Sekine, and then extended the lead in the 16th minute of the second half after a furious shot by Yasuya Taimaki.

In the 26th minute of the second half, Chira Miura came in as a substitute. Although Chira Miura ran actively in front of the field and scrambled for high balls to find a chance, he failed to get a shot on goal, and the 0-2 scoreline persisted until the end. Yokohama FC only needed a draw to break the group stage for the first time in their history, but a complete loss led to a disappointing exit from the tournament.
