Morata (name)

Couple accused of cutting down five trees in their villa in Pozuelo de Alarcon, Autonomous Community of Madrid, by local authorities

fine (monetary)

Euro 22 thousand.

Morata's villa is located in the Pozuelo de Alarcon, an upscale residential neighborhood in the Autonomous Community of Madrid, where many Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid players reside. Recently, the Morata's applied for a naturalization permit to carry out extension work on the villa in the hope of expanding some of the sports areas. However, during the construction process, five trees in the villa were cut down, in violation of Decree No. 8/2005 on the Protection and Promotion of Urban Trees in the Community of Madrid.

According to the decree, a technician from the municipality must first inspect the site to determine which trees need to be protected and cannot be cut down. In this case, the trees were all 15 years old, and the local authorities considered the Moratas to be in breach of the law and fined them 22,000 euros.

This is not the first time a similar incident has occurred. Previously, Ramos was also fined 250,000 euros for cutting down 90 trees during the reworking of his home. Although the penalty was temporarily suspended following an appeal by Ramos, it shows how seriously local authorities are taking the issue of cutting down protected trees. A few weeks ago, local construction company Grupo La Finca was fined 240,000 euros for cutting down 80 trees to build an apartment without permission.

The local government has very strict rules for the protection of urban trees and has been penalizing similar violations in recent years. This strict regulation is aimed at protecting the green environment of the city and ensuring that urban trees are properly protected.

The incident of Mr. and Mrs. Morata is yet another reminder to the public of the importance of complying with the relevant regulations before carrying out any construction work involving trees and avoiding penalties for violation of the regulations.
