Premier League giants Liverpool have shown a keen interest in Bundesliga side Freiburg's midfielder Löwer, according to a report by Insight Offside. The news was confirmed by renowned soccer journalist Falk, but Falk also noted that Liverpool will not sign the player in the upcoming January winter transfer window.

Liverpool have been looking to strengthen their midfield, and Lerer has entered the Reds' field of vision with his outstanding performance at Freiburg. However, Lerer is currently suffering from a serious ankle ligament tear, which to a certain extent affects his transfer process. Falque said, "I don't think Liverpool will sign Lerer in January because he is still recovering from his injury."

The Freiburg club was quick to react to Liverpool's interest in Löhr and they were apparently fully aware of it. According to Falck, Freiburg offered Löhr a contract extension on September 18th, a contract that is considered very interesting as Freiburg kept the agreed duration of the contract a secret. The move certainly shows the importance Freiburg place on Löhr and also reflects their nervousness about Liverpool's interest.

Lerer is a very good player who was a member of the German national youth team and showed great potential. The Liverpool side are keeping a close eye on Lerer's growth, especially how he recovers from his injuries. According to Falque, "Lerer will definitely be watched. If he recovers well, Liverpool will try to sign him again next summer."

In addition, Falke also pointed out that Freiburg may face some difficulties in offering a contract extension as they cannot offer Leer a more attractive contract than Liverpool. This means that once Löw is back to fitness and shows what he can do, he will most likely choose to join a big club like Liverpool.
