Chelsea
Intense and intensive talks are underway to identify Pochettino's replacement as soon as possible. After agreeing with Pochettino on his departure, Chelsea immediately launched a selection process and are currently scouting a number of candidates.
Talks relating to Chelsea's managerial selection got underway late on Tuesday night and continued into the night on Wednesday. The club had conversations with a number of candidates to determine how best to move forward with the selection process. Although no final timetable has been set, Chelsea want to find a successor as soon as possible to avoid delays.
Here is the list of candidates Chelsea are interested in:
McKenna
(Ipswich)
commander-in-chief
): Also being watched by Brighton and Manchester United, with Ipswich ready to offer him a contract extension.
Maresca, capital of Slovakia
(Leicester City boss): £8.5m release clause in contract with Leicester City.
Hernández Jr.
(Stuttgart boss): Has extended his contract with Stuttgart until 2027 and German sources believe it is more likely that he will stay on.
Frank (name)
(Brentford boss): Manchester United are interested in him, especially with the possible departure of Ten Hahn.
Michel or Mitchell (name)
(Real Betis boss): Also on the Chelsea radar.
Chelsea are aware that they could face competition from Manchester United if the selection process takes too long. United won't decide on TenHazy's future until after the FA Cup final, but if TenHazy is dropped, United are interested in at least two of the coaches in the running to be Chelsea's new manager - Frank and McKenna.
Chelsea want to avoid taking five to six weeks as they did when Pochettino was appointed, and instead want to ensure that preparations for the new season go smoothly by moving quickly to find a suitable successor as soon as possible.
