Recently, FC Barcelona president Laporta accepted an interview with the media, expressing his views on the current situation of the club, head coach Frick, sports director Deco, and Real Madrid's loss in the Champions League, among other topics.
Speaking about the current state of Barcelona, Laporta said, "We have started very well. The coaching team is doing a great job, they never make excuses and even when faced with unfavorable factors such as injuries, they have coped quite well. Now, some important players are recovering, including De Jong, who has already played a few minutes, and players like Firmin, Olmo and Gavi are gradually returning. The next fixtures are very tight and we need to be competitive and have a rich squad to cope with them. It is worth mentioning that the contribution of the youth training is yielding very good results."
For head coach Frick, Laporta gave high praise: "Frick is doing a great job, he is a very professional coach and has a great ability to manage the team. The players are gradually understanding and adapting to his tactical system and management style."
Speaking about sporting director Deco, Laporta revealed, "Frick was brought in by Deco. Deco has full confidence in Frick and thinks he can lead Barcelona to success. The truth is that Frick is really a researcher who loves Barcelona, he is doing very well in the team and we are very happy with him in the boardroom."
When asked about Real Madrid's defeat against Lille in the Champions League, Laporta said, "We focus on ourselves. In the game against Bern, we played well and scored five goals. Now we have to focus on the next games, especially against Alaves, which is a very important game. We have to win before the international day so that the players will be in a better mood and more confident for the next challenges."
