Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers spoke to the media after the 1-0 home defeat to Bayern Munich in the 2nd round of the UEFA Champions League, sharing his feelings about the win and his thoughts on the performance of his teammate Duran.
Talking about the atmosphere of the game
"I've only been here for a short time but the atmosphere at this game was clearly the best I've ever experienced. The fans were fantastic from start to finish and their support really pushed us on. On the field, we felt like 12 men answering the bell and their support gave us endless motivation."
Sharing the joy of winning
"Winning this game was really special for me and I really can't put into words how happy I am. This kind of victory is not just for me personally, the whole team is in great joy. We worked so hard for this win and it's really exciting to finally beat such a strong opponent."
Evaluating Duran, who came on as a substitute to break the ice
"Duran gave me new energy in the last 20 minutes of the game if I was feeling a bit tired. He came on as a substitute and immediately gave the Bayern defenders nightmares. You can see how good he is. How many games has he won for us this season? He's really a fantastic player and I'm sure he'll get better. It's crazy that he's only 20 years old. That finish he made was fantastic and I'm sure he'll continue to play brilliantly like that."
