Perhaps one such player who does exist is the naturalized player who has been highlighted since 2019, Delgado of Shandong Luneng. After returning from injury, he has made a number of appearances as a substitute this season, scoring a total of four goals, including a shutout and a crucial equalizer. Delgado's form is something to look forward to. More crucially, he has completed his naturalization and is now based in Jinan, Shandong Province, which meets FIFA's rules for naturalized players on the pitch. If Ivankovic is willing to call up Delgado, he will complete the formalities as soon as October's match against the Australian men's soccer team.

Delgado's current situation at Shandong Luneng is not ideal, but it would be a good opportunity for him to get into the Chinese men's soccer squad as soon as possible. Once selected for the national team, he will be able to get more playing time. Moreover, representing China as a naturalized player is a desired goal for Delgado. Therefore, the possibility of him appearing in the 18-team tournament is still quite high.

The addition of Delgado will link up with the likes of old teammate Fernando and significantly improve the Chinese men's offense. But ultimately, it's Ivan's choice. Hopefully Ivan will be more flexible, otherwise we may struggle to win a game in the Top 18.
