Chen Yong updates social media to praise Taishan and Shenhua for their performances in the AFC Champions League.

The first two Chinese Super League (CSL) teams to play in the first round of the East Asian Zone of the new AFC Elite League season performed well. Shandong Taishan beat Central Coast Mariners 3-1, while Shanghai Shenhua beat Pohang Steelers 4-1.

Talking about the performance of the two Chinese Super League teams, Chen Yong wrote: "Taishan kills it when it comes to the AFC Champions League. At the lowest point, they rely on the AFC Championship to resurrect and have AFC Championship experience. Today, I admire Shenhua more. They did not participate in the AFC Champions League last year. It's their first time in the AFC Champions League in a couple years. As Slutsky said, they didn't adapt at first, but they adapted quickly. In fact, will and motivation are the most important."
