Jonatan Towers said in an interview, "It's a loss, really. After all, one step at a time, surely I wish for another ending, that's how I feel right now. But we have to move on anyway, there's a very, very important game waiting for us next, and although it's sad, we have to bear the pain, and we'll have to continue our preparations from tomorrow."
He further added, "There is no doubt that Atalanta deserved the win, while we were a bit lost in the game. They showed more aggression against us and limited our space, which allowed them to beat us in the end."
Atlanta showed excellent teamwork and tactical execution in the match, and successfully lifted the UEFA Cup trophy through strong aggression and tight defense against Leverkusen.
