May 23 (Bloomberg) - According to prominent journalist Romano
Bayern
Munich is about to appoint
Vincent Kompany (1985-), French soccer player
for the new manager, with a deal imminent. After an earlier phone conversation, Kompany has accepted the job and says he is ready for a new chapter.
Bayern are currently in communication with Burnley over compensation to ensure the deal goes through.
Kompany coached Burnley in the 2023/24 season, but the team performed poorly and was relegated to 19th place in the Premier League. During the season, Burnley won 5, drew 9 and lost 24 in 38 rounds of matches, scoring 41 goals and conceding 78. However, Bayern believe that Kompany's leadership and tactical philosophy can lead the team to new success.
