Between January 20, 1985 (at the age of 16) and February 2008 (at the age of 40), he reached the milestone of having played more than 1,000 official matches for the team, which is the third-highest number of matches played in Serie A in the history of the club. He is also the player who has played in the most Milan derbies, the most matches for the same club and the most for the national team. In his career, he won 5 Champions League titles, 7 Serie A titles and 26 other trophies. on May 31, 2009, the 41-year-old generation of legends officially retired.
