FC Barcelona officially announced today that manager Xavi will leave his post at the end of the season. In response, Harvey released a touching farewell letter on his social media.
Here are the main points of Harvey's farewell letter:
dear
Barcelona
Fans, this Sunday I will end my coaching career at Barcelona. It's never easy to leave the club of one's life, but after two and a half years at the helm of the dressing room, which has been like a second home to me, I'm leaving with a great deal of pride.
I would like to thank the fans for their support and love, who have always been there for me and have always shown me the same high esteem as when I was a player. As of Sunday, I will be another Barcelona fan in the stands, both at the Olympic Stadium now and at the Camp Nou in a few months' time. Because I was a Barcelona fan before I became a player or a coach, and I want nothing but the best for this club in my life, which will always be there for me.
I have worked with a great group of players and a great staff. Thanks to them, we achieved what we set out to do and won the league title and the Super Cup last season. Although this season has not been as good as we would have liked, we have been working hard and have helped to develop a new generation of young players from La Masia who have been a source of inspiration for all Barça fans.
Thank you very much to everyone. Thank you to the fans, the players, the staff, the club staff, the President, the Board of Directors, the Athletic Director, the media, and everyone else who has been on the journey with me over the past two and a half seasons.
I wish the club I have in mind all the best.
Long live Barcelona.
