
The winner of last year's Breakthrough of the Year award was not China's frog king Qin Ocean, but Real Madrid's Bellingham. Qin Ocean was impressive but failed to win the award. Since joining Real Madrid last year, Bellingham's career has seen a huge boost. This season, he has made 36 appearances for Real Madrid, scoring 21 goals and recording 10 assists.

Alyssa Theroux is the winner of the Extreme Athlete of the Year award. The young athlete made history in skateboarding last year, becoming the first woman to complete a 720-degree maneuver, and had a successful and fruitful season.
Sports for Good Award of the Year - Nadal Foundation (a program that believes in the power of sport and has helped more than 1,000 disadvantaged young people in Spain and India, enabling them to reach their full potential).
The 2023 Disabled Athlete of the Year is Dieudel de Groot, who won all 53 of her singles matches and won her third consecutive all Grand Slam tournament.
Comeback of the Year winner - Simon Biles (the iconic gymnast who won four gold medals at last year's World Championships, including a record 6th all-around title).
After an extraordinary performance at the Women's World Cup, the Spanish women's soccer team won the World Cup for the first time, winning the Team of the Year award.
