In a recent interview, McLaren, Temhag's former assistant coach, looked back in detail on his time at Manchester United, particularly his experience working with Temhag, and commented on the recent situation at Manchester United.

McClaren said his time in charge at United was full of pressure: "At United you are under a lot of pressure every day and I had a challenging two years there with Ten Hagar. We went through a lot of ups and downs, like in the games against Brighton and Brentford.

After the game, fans questioned Ten Hagar's performance and even called for his dismissal. But then we beat the mighty Liverpool and that gave us back our confidence."

He went on to recall, "Last season, United suffered a heartbreaking defeat against Crystal Palace, with a scoreline that could have been 0-8 at one point, and I thought at the time that was the end of the road for us at United. But amazingly, the team then went on a four-game winning streak and eventually won the cup final by reaching it again. It proves that Ten Hagar is the type of guy who can stay the course."

McClaren is confident about the future of Ten Hagar and Manchester United: "I was still in the team at the beginning of the season and witnessed the reorganization of United by Inglis, who brought in a lot of good coaches and players, including Fanny, etc. I think this is a good start for the new season. The atmosphere in the team is very positive, and I think this is a good start to the new season for United. There have been some ups and downs in the process, but Ten Hag has proved that he is capable of leading the team through."

He added: "At a club like Manchester United, the ups and downs of soccer are the norm. We often have breakfast and tea together in the canteen and face crisis after crisis. But it's these experiences that have strengthened our belief to keep going and to win when it counts. I am confident that United and Ten Hagar will go far in the future."
