In his pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League round 7 home game against Manchester United, Villa boss Emery spoke at length about his team's injury situation, particularly the form of four players - Ramsey, Bailey, Amadou Onaena and McGinn.
On Ramsey and Bailly, Emery said their form is currently in doubt: "They are both doubtful at the moment and I don't know if they will be available on Sunday. We will train, but they are in a very tight physical state. Even if they can play on Sunday, they won't be at 100 percent. However, we need every player's contribution, so tomorrow's training will be crucial, depending on how they feel about themselves. For now, they are all question marks."
Speaking about Amadou Onaona's situation, Emery was slightly more optimistic: "He [Onaona] is also a doubt at the moment, but I think it's possible that he could play. We will keep a close eye on his recovery and make the best decision for the team."
Regarding McGinn, Emery said his injury is not too serious but a decisive decision needs to be made closer to the next game: "McGinn's injury is not too serious but we have to make a decision before the game at the weekend. Tomorrow morning, maybe even by Sunday morning, Leon Bailey, Jacob Ramsey, Amadou Onaona and their recovery will be very important for my decision."
Finally, Emery also spoke about how he adapts his tactics to the recovery of his players, "I have to try to identify if I can make some adjustments when other players are ready to play in order to create a better time for them to play. Our goal is to make sure that the team plays at its best in the game and we will give our best regardless of who plays."
