Arsenal striker Martinelli, who scored a goal in Arsenal's 3-1 home win over Southampton, gave a post-match interview to share his feelings and thoughts.
Martinelli began by expressing his joy and confidence in the game, "I'm very happy and confident right now and just want to keep playing my soccer. Coach Arteta gave me clear instructions, 'Get on the pitch, control the game, try to bring the ball forward and create chances for us.' I followed his instructions and it feels great."
He went on to talk about the toughness of the game and his team's performance, "It was a tough game, but we showed what we are made of. I think we played very well and ended up winning the game, so I'm very happy. It's international day and we have to stay healthy and think about the upcoming games. We are ready and can't wait for the Premier League to return again."
Speaking about teammate Saca's assist, Martinelli was full of appreciation, "We know the area we need to go to when someone passes the ball. Saca sent an incredible pass and I was there, received the ball and scored the goal. It was a really good moment for me and a beautiful goal. I just tried to keep the ball down and shoot and I'm very happy with the goal."
He also singled out Saka's personal qualities: "Saka is also a great guy and we are happy to have him here as one of the captains. He's incredible on the field and is now one of the best players in the world. I feel very honored and proud to have him in our team."
