In an interview with TNT Sport, English soccer great Joe Cole and former England striker Crouch have given their views on the future of Manchester United manager Jurgen Ten Hagar. Joe Cole began by stating that while it is always difficult to critique a person's career prospects as it relates to the other person's livelihood, he has observed Ten Hagar fall on hard times many times over the past 18 months and always miraculously manage to stay on. However, Cole believes that there doesn't seem to be a real resonance between United and Ten Hagar, and he predicts that he would be surprised if Ten Hagar could still be in charge of United by Christmas. Cole emphasized that while such predictions are not part of what they would like to see or be involved in, the reality of the situation may indeed be the case.

Crouch, on the other hand, expressed a similar view to Cole's, believing that if United continue to fail to achieve the desired results, the criticisms and questions about Ten Hagar will be even more violent and "the heat will be on". The comments of the two celebrities have undoubtedly added a layer of uncertainty to Ten Hagar's future at United.
