Manchester City beat Fulham 3-2 at home in the 7th round of the English Premier League tonight. After the match, Manchester City midfielder Kovacic was interviewed by Premier League Manufacturing to share his thoughts on the match.
Kovačić said, "This game is as tough as every game in the Premier League. We always say there are no easy opponents in the Premier League. We dominated in the beginning but failed to score. After conceding the goal, we quickly equalized and eventually won the game. It was a tough matchup against an opponent in great form, so it's good for us to keep winning."
Speaking about filling Rodri's vacancy, Kovacic said, "I'm playing in the midfield right now and of course we need to find a replacement for Rodri. We miss him a lot, I think any team would miss a player like him. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope he will return in top form. Now we have to adapt, the coach has a lot of options and we can rotate."
Speaking about his second goal, Kovačić said, "The coach told us that we should move in and around the box because the ball always goes there. I was lucky to be in that position and B-Square gave me a good pass which I stopped well and shot with precision. Winning the game is always the most important thing, it doesn't matter who scores, the key thing is to get the three points. Now we want to keep that going."
