March 13th, the 2024 season of the Women's Super League will officially begin. According to a report by Jiang Xian, a reporter from Sports Weekly, the Beijing women's soccer team, which won the third place in the All-Championship season, has ushered in good news, as the team has finally ended its three-year "naked run" and ushered in a new sponsor.
At the end of 2020, Beijing Women's Football has been in a window of vacancy after Beijing Control Group ended its four-year investment in the club. Since then, the Beijing Women's Football Team has been relying on funds from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sports to maintain basic operations. Although not "cut off", but this is not a long-term solution. At the beginning of this season's league, Beijing Women's Soccer finally welcomed a new sponsor, and on March 11th, a signing ceremony was completed between the new sponsor and Beijing Jingtan Soccer Club Co. It is reported that the negotiation between the two sides is very smooth, less than three months to promote this "marriage".
Previously, Beijing women's soccer team has never given up despite the lack of funds, relying on that faith and persistence to keep struggling on the path of their dreams. Last season, the team ranked fifth in the Women's Super League. In the new season, with the guarantee of funds and the return of women's soccer captains Wang Shanshan and Gu Yasha, Beijing women's soccer team has no worries and can continue to hit a higher target.
Yu Yun, head coach of the Beijing women's soccer team, said, "We don't need our leaders to tell us that we will have higher expectations for ourselves. We finished fifth in the league last year. Now our goal must be to move forward, but we still let the players take one step at a time. Beijing didn't give up or persevere during the difficult times. Life is better now. We should be more careful and play soccer better."
Wang Shanshan said: "It is because of the support from all walks of life that the women's soccer team can achieve excellent results in the game and win more fans. In the new season, the women's soccer team will give back to the community's favor with more enthusiasm and fighting spirit."
