According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Zambian women's soccer player Rachel Kundanangi has left Madrid Women's Soccer to move to US-based Gulf Coast Soccer Club. The transfer fee of 735,000 euros set a new record for women's soccer transfer fees.
Kundanangi is 23 years old. In January, Gulf offered 400,000 euros for her, but Madrid rejected it. Now Gulf paid a termination fee of 735,000 euros and signed Kundanangi, who has signed a five-year contract between the two sides.
This sets a new record transfer fee for a women's soccer team, the previous holder being Ramirez, who joined Chelsea from Levante for €450,000 + €50,000 for a total of €500,000.
