Feb. 04 (Xinhua) -- Chinese B team Yunnan Yukun is eligible to participate in the 2024 season of the professional league, according to the official news of the Football Association. As the third ranked team in the China A Supplementary Team, Yunnan Yukun is expected to supplement the China A Supplementary Team in the new season.

On January 29, the Football Association announced the qualifications for admission to the 2024 professional league. Dandong Tengyue, Yunnan Yukun and Wuhan Jiangcheng, who played in the Pro League last season, were not included in the announced list.

Yunnan Yukun, with its strong financial resources, finished third in China B last season, but failed to achieve its goal of reaching the first division. With Dalian Ren and Shenzhen deciding to withdraw from China A and Wuxi Wu Hook and Jiangxi Lushan making up the ground, if Yunnan Yukun wants to make up the ground in China A, another club in China A or China A won't be able to make it through the visit.

Yunnan Yukun reportedly contacted the struggling Chinese Dandong Tengyue in hopes of giving them a sum of money to allow Dandong Tengyue to announce its dissolution. This would allow Yunnan Yukun to replace Dandong Tengyue in supplementing China's first division, but members of Dandong Tengyue reported the situation to the relevant authorities.

According to Football Daily, the situation was soon discovered by the relevant disciplinary authorities and intervened in the investigation. Yunnan and Liaoning also assisted the authorities in investigating the two clubs.

According to reporter Zhu Xiaolong, Yunnan Yukun investors have reportedly provided an $80 million budget for the new Chinese First Division season. This comes after Li Jinyu was brought in as coach and a number of strong new assistance was introduced.
