Allow clubs to name teams
The CFA Regulations on the Management of Professional Club and Team Names (Trial Implementation) make the following adjustments to professional club team names:Club names adhere to non-corporate (neutral names), and clubs are allowed to name their teams for the 2024-2028 season. The document also stipulates that the teams belonging to a club shall not accept the name, trade name or brand (including similar Chinese characters or phrases) of the club's shareholders; shall not accept the titles of sponsors such as gambling, tobacco, etc.; a team can only accept the title of one sponsor; and the teams of different clubs shall not be owned by the same sponsor (including its top ten shareholders or actual control).
Acceptance of relocation is conditional
The regulations (for trial implementation) on the change of registered member associations and equity transfer of men's professional soccer clubs of the CFA are adjusted as follows in terms of off-site relocation and equity change: firstly, the off-site relocation is conditionally accepted; secondly, the restriction on new upgraded clubs that do not allow important equity transfer within one year after upgrading is canceled; and thirdly, the qualification requirements for the transferring party and the transferee are appropriately relaxed, so that the requirements for the club's equity diversification reform can be better adapted to.
