On January 3, the Chinese Football Association (CFA) released a notice on player transfer registration for the 2024 season for Chinese Super League (CSL), Chinese League A (CLA) and Chinese League B (CLB) clubs. Chinese Super League teams can play five foreign aiders at the same time, and Chinese League A teams can play three foreign aiders at the same time.

Domestic transfer registration

(i) Processing time

Chinese Super League and Chinese First Division clubs

First transfer window: January 4 to February 28, 2024

Second, the transfer window: June 17 to July 15, 2024

Secondly, China B clubs

First transfer window: January 4 to March 8, 2024 Second transfer window: June 17 to July 15, 2024

(ii) Transfer quota for domestic players

There is no quota restriction for new entry domestic players of each Chinese Super League, Chinese First Division and Chinese Second Division club.

2. For the transfer and registration of players from Hong Kong, Macao, SAR and Taiwan Province, refer to the CFA's notice on the players from Hong Kong, Macao, SAR and Taiwan Province who will participate in the relevant provisions of the 2018 Professional League (Soccer Word (2018 No. 36).

Naturalized players are transferred and registered according to their domestic player status, and other procedures are handled in accordance with the relevant regulations.

Submissions (III)

Domestic transfer procedures should be handled on the CFA information platform and the following materials should be submitted: transfer agreement or proof of expiration of contract with the original club, agency agreement or statement of no agency between the player or club and the agent, work contract signed between the player and the new club, and voucher for payment of transfer fee.

Registration of foreign transfers

(i) Processing time

Based on the time of registration of domestic transfers, the Chinese Super League and Chinese League One clubs.

(ii) Registration quota, number of registrations and number of players on the field for foreign players

Only Chinese Super League and Chinese League One clubs are eligible to bring in foreign players.

2. In the first transfer window, each Chinese Super League club may register no more than six foreign players; each Chinese First Division club may register no more than three foreign players.

3. In the first and second transfer windows, each Chinese Super League club may register no more than seven foreign players; each Chinese First Division club may register no more than four foreign players.

4. Each Chinese Super League (CSL) club can register a maximum of 5 foreign players per match, with a maximum of 5 on the pitch; each Chinese club can register a maximum of 3 foreign players per match, with a maximum of 3 on the pitch.

Foreign players loaned to other clubs take up the registration places of foreign players of the original (loaned) club.

Submissions (III)

The FIFA International Transfer Matching System (ITMS) shall handle foreign-related transfers. (ITMS) in the middle of the process and submit the following materials: transfer agreement or proof of expiration of the contract with the original club, agency agreement between the player or the club and the agent or a statement of non-agency, the work contract signed between the player and the new club, and proof of payment of the transfer fee.

(a) Each Chinese Super League, Chinese First Division and Chinese Second Division club is awarded. 2024 Players may enter the 2024 season after qualifying for the appropriate league in the 2024 season.

(b) The CFA will penalize the relevant associations, clubs and personnel in accordance with the CFA Disciplinary Guidelines for irregularities in the handling of the above work.
