Former Japan international Yosuke Kashiwagi announced his retirement on Dec. 5 as a 35-year-old midfielder who won the Asian Cup and AFC Champions League.

Yosuke Kashiwagi was born on December 15, 1987 and plays as a midfielder on the pitch. He initially played for Sanfrecce Hiroshima until 2010 when he joined Urawa Red Diamonds, where he played until 2021. During this time, he won the 2017 AFC Champions League with the team and was honored as the tournament's Player of the Year.In 2021, Yosuke Kashiwagi joined Gifu FC of the J3 League, contributing two assists in 24 appearances this season.

Yosuke Kashiwagi was first selected for the Japan national team in 2010, he has made 11 career appearances for Japan and won the 2011 Asian Cup with the team. He made one appearance in that tournament.
