The men's soccer group stage of the Asian Games in Hangzhou was completed today.In Group D, Palestine lost to Japan 0-1. However, by virtue of goal difference, Palestine managed to overpower Qatar and gained the second position in the group. Qatar is ranked third in the group and will face the Chinese Men's Asian Games team in the 1/8 finals.

According to the rules of the tournament, the top 2 of 6 groups and the 3rd of 4 groups make up the knockout round of 16. After the competition, China, India, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Bahrain, North Korea, Kyrgyzstan, and Palestine decided to lock the top two groups, while Myanmar, Thailand, Indonesia, and Qatar decided to finish third, with Qatar becoming the first knockout opponent for China's men's soccer team at the Asian Games.

China will face the winner of South Korea and Kyrgyzstan in the quarterfinals.
