On the eve of the third round of the UEFA Nations League, Norway will host Slovenia. Norwegian goal scorer Harland was interviewed by the media before the match, sharing his thoughts on the home atmosphere, how he plays the role of captain, and the impact of captain Ödgård's absence from the match.
Speaking about the home atmosphere, Harland said, "At first we might have complained a bit that there wasn't a big enough crowd. But when the stadium was packed, we started picking on the atmosphere again. That's actually not right. Now we have a full house for our home games and we should be very happy about that. This support is a huge motivation for us and we will do our best to give our fans a great game."
Harland's attitude towards how he plays the role of captain is very natural: "My answer is very simple, it's really the same as when I wasn't captain. I don't try to be someone else or change myself too much. I think the most important thing is to be yourself and stay true to yourself. That's what I'm trying to do as captain, lead the team forward while keeping my own style and character."
Speaking about the absence of captain Ödgö, Harland said, "Ödgö is a great person and a marvelous player. He plays a very important role in the team. The game will of course be a little bit different without him and we will miss him. But soccer is a team sport and we have to work together to do our best. I believe we are capable of meeting this challenge and winning the game."
