Liverpool player Arnold recently shared his expectations and mindset about his career in an interview with ITV. He confessed that his biggest fear is not being able to maximize his potential, a concern that was echoed in a conversation he had when he traveled with England to play in Ireland. Arnold said he was on a bus to the airport with teammate Eze and the two discussed the uncertainty of their careers, mentioning that he may never win more trophies again, but that there is a possibility that he could continue to reap the accolades.
Arnold believes that career accomplishments and satisfaction cannot be measured in terms of specific numbers such as goals, assists, trophies and medals immediately after retirement. What he values more is whether he gave it his all and whether he gave it his all from start to finish. Arnold said he wants to be able to look back on the morning after his retirement with no regrets about his career, with the certainty that he gave it his all each and every day, and that he is striving to get better each and every day.
He emphasized that his goal is to try to be the best version of himself, to be the best player on the team, and to help the team win as many games as possible. Arnold believes that as long as he can say that he has cashed in on his talent to the fullest extent when he retires, then he will be very satisfied with his career.
