In a recent interview with Relevo, Tottenham Hotspur player Polo expressed his joy at returning to the Spanish national team and shared his feelings about his soccer career and what he is looking forward to in the future.

Polo said, "I am very happy to be back in the national team again, which always means a great honor for me. Although I've brought a bit of a 'storm' with me lately, it doesn't take away from my mood at the moment."

Talking about the anxiety he felt when he previously failed to make the national team, Polo confessed, "I always keep an eye on the roster and if I don't make it, then I keep trying. I know what it means to play for the national team and I spent many years with De La Fuente in the U21 national team. Now I feel much better in defense and I'm happy."

Regretting not being able to play in the Europa League, Polo said, "My partner and I have been looking at the Europa League roster. There were two very good wing-backs taking their places, one of the best of all time, so all I could say was 'I'll have to wait a bit longer'. Although I was a bit sad not to be able to compete, I expressed my excitement on social media and followed the national team at home, which turned out to be pretty good."

Polo believes he is in top form at the moment and has made great strides in defense in particular. He revealed, "There are a lot of one-on-one situations in the Premier League and I'm doing well in that area. Our coaches are particularly focused on defensive training and that has improved me a lot."

Speaking about competing with Mingheza for a place, Polo said, "I would like to be here, even if I don't play for a minute, and I would like Carvajal to be there as well. Because he gives us a lot of support in the locker room and on the field we all know he is the best."

Polo also addressed the issue of injuries, saying he won't let it bother him: "I'm a player who doesn't think like that. If I need to give 200 percent, I'll give it. I'm going to take care of myself every day and that's the most important thing."

Reflecting on his soccer career, Polo was overwhelmed with emotion: "Time has flown by. Just a few days ago I was talking to Moyano, the captain of Valladolid. He told me about his current situation and here I am, which is a huge honor for me. I have a great affection for Moyano, he played games and kicked more, while I was struggling for chances at the time."

On whether he regrets that City bought him but were unable to play under Guardiola, Polo said, "Yes, I could have learned a lot. But life is like that and now I am where I am and happy."

Polo also candidly looked back at his mistakes in national team matches and said that he is always trying to improve, "I looked back at the last few matches I played before with the national team, including that bad slip against Scotland. I like to see my mistakes and try to correct them. It makes me a better person and a better player."

Finally, Polo said that he will continue to work hard and hopes to one day become a great player like his idols, Jesus Navas and Carvajal. He said, "I'm only 25 years old and I still have a lot to improve. I look at their careers and say to myself 'I'm so bad', but I'm also on the right path. Hopefully one day I can be like them."
