England women's football manager Wegmann has won the Women's Football Coach of the Year award at the UEFA Best of the Year Awards ceremony.
After receiving the award, Wegman expressed his opinion on the recent events in Spanish women's soccer and offered his support to them.
WEIGHMAN: We all know that as a coach and a mother of two daughters, as a wife and as a person, it really hurt me. It also shows that the women's soccer team and the community have a long way to go.
At the World Cup, I would like to dedicate this award (UEFA Women's Soccer Coach of the Year) to Spain, a team that plays the beautiful soccer that everyone loves.
This team deserves to be celebrated and heard. I hope you'll join me in applauding them again.
