Portis scored 12 points in one quarter and hit two three-pointers to help the Bucks close the gap. At the end of the first quarter, the Lakers led 26 - 23.
In the second quarter, the Stags started poorly, trailing by 7 points. They then adjusted to tie the game and rally to take a seven-point lead. Adetokounmpo had a good quarter, scoring 16 points, while James also scored 10 points, including two key three-pointers. The quarter ended with the Bucks leading 58-52.
In the third quarter, the score was tied. The Lakers had a good offense, and the Bucks, cheered on by the home crowd, had a good defense and offense to take an 82 - 74 lead into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, the Bucks started the game on offense, bringing the score to 89 - 74, but the Lakers didn't give up and found a rhythm to score consecutively, not only tying the game, but also leading by 12 points.
