Athletic Bilbao youngster Jaureguiçar recently shared his experiences and feelings about his time with the team this season, as well as his vision for the future, in a recent interview.
Jaureguiçar has been an unexpected part of head coach Valverde's regular lineup this season, to which he said he didn't anticipate being given so many chances to play. "Coach Valverde always asks me to do well, to be brave and push with the ball and do my best. In fact, during the preseason, I didn't really excel and there were a lot of players ahead of me in the pecking order on the team." Hauregisar confessed, "But when I did get the chance to play, I always fought with confidence and everything turned out well. To be honest, I didn't expect to do so well at first."
In addition to summarizing the season's performance, Hauraguisar also expressed his admiration for the team's veteran DeMarcos. "My dream is to be a player like DeMarcos, whose jersey I used to collect. He was not only a leader on the field, but a role model for all of us." Jaureguizar said, "Unai Gomez and I both came out of the Bermeo youth camp and we joined Athletic Bilbao together, and this feeling of joining hands along the way is very special."
Additionally, Horejisal revealed his life outside of training. "I am still a college student and apart from my daily training, I go to classes. In my free time, I spend a lot of time with my friends, who are always there for me and give me great support in good times and bad."
As for the future, Jaureguiçar is looking forward to it. "I hope to continue to shine at Athletic Bilbao and contribute to the team. At the same time, I will keep working hard to improve my skills and qualities on the ball, and strive to become a mainstay of the team as soon as possible."
