Wuxi Wu Hook Football Club sent a letter to the CFA on the afternoon of August 7, reflecting on the serious error they suffered in the recently concluded 17th round of the Central League match. During the match, their goal had clearly crossed the opponent's goal, but the refereeing crew chose to ignore it, a low-level mistake that led to an unfair penalty. The club demanded that the CFA penalize the refereeing crew on duty.

Wuxi Wu Hook said in a letter that they scored a goal in the 48th minute of their away game on the evening of August 5 in their relegation battle against Shanghai Jiading Huilong in the 17th round of the 2023 season's Central League. The ball hit the lower edge of the crossbar and bounced into the goal, the whole ball had crossed the goal line.

As there is no video replay or video referee in the Chinese First Division, Wuxi Wu Hook team officials provided a cell phone playback version of the video for the first time, but the duty referee, assistant referee, and fourth official did not make any statement or identify the goal.

To achieve this, Wuxi Wu Hook also publicized this video of the moment of the shot. The video shows that the ball, after hitting the lower edge of the crossbar of the goal, did bounce into the goal and crossed the goal line.

At the time, the score was 1-1. if the goal was counted, Wuxi Wuhu would have surpassed the score by 2-1 on the basis of Zhang Yuanshu's direct goal from a free kick and the equalizer, and the game would have been trending towards Wuxi Wuhu's 3 points.

However, after that goal was not recognized, the game went away again. In the 83rd minute, Shanghai Jiading Huilong's header by foreigner Jefferson locked the score at 2-1 and helped his team gain a valuable 3 points. Wuxi Wuhu suffered undefeated for 17 consecutive rounds.

Faced with such a result, Wuxi Wu Hook felt unfair. Although they knew that the result of the match could not be changed, they still wrote to the Chinese Football Association to express their demands. On one hand, they asked the Chinese Football Association to punish the duty referee team, on the other hand, they suggested the Chinese Football Association to strictly select and train the referees. At the same time, every referee should do his or her job well and seriously brag about every game to ensure fairness and impartiality.

The poor performance of Wuxi Wuhu, the promoted team in the Central League this season, is due to factors such as hasty promotion and insufficient reinforcements. So far, 17 rounds of matches have been played and we have only achieved 3 draws and 14 defeats, scored only 6 goals and conceded a whopping 34, with a total of only 3 points, we are at the bottom of the table and have become the favorite to be relegated.
