In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Phillips expressed his views on a number of soccer figures, with him highlighting that Rodri deserved to win this year's Ballon d'Or.
Of Rhodri, Phillips said, "I think Rhodri deserves the Ballon d'Or and he has done everything he can to earn the honor. He's been outstanding and has shown a great level of play on both the offensive and defensive end of the field."
Speaking about Guardiola, Phillips said with respect, "I've learned a lot from Guardiola. His understanding of soccer and tactical setups opened my eyes, which is just crazy to me. He gave me a whole new perspective on soccer."
And of Foden, Phillips was even more complimentary, "Foden is the best player I have ever trained and played with. He's got great talent and skill, and he's always so consistent in his play."
In addition, Phillips talked about Harland: "I've never seen a player like Harland. He has an extremely high percentage of scoring from anywhere in the box, and as long as the ball is passed to him, he has a 99% chance of putting it in. Harland is full of fighting spirit every season, constantly surpassing himself, and his future is absolutely limitless."
