In the 3rd round of the UEFA A League match played on October 12, Beijing time, the Netherlands drew 1-1 with Hungary. After the match, Dutch player De Vry was interviewed and gave his views on the match and the team's situation.
When asked who will start in place of Van Dyke in the next game, DeVry said, "We'll know the exact roster soon. I don't remember exactly when Van Dyke wasn't there, but we have a lot of great defenders on the team who are capable of filling in. We'll give it our best shot to perform well and get a good result in the upcoming games."
De Vry expressed some disappointment at the result: "We came here to win, so it's disappointing that we couldn't achieve that. But we showed resilience in the game today and even though Van Dyk was red carded, we still had the confidence to equalize and we did that in the end. Hungary played a completely different style of play in this game than they did against Germany, they put us under more pressure up front and tried to limit our play. In previous games we may have had more space to exploit, but in this game we faced greater difficulties. However, we did find some space to attack in the second half as their defense could not continue with the same intensity as before."
