In a recent interview, Spain's U21 attacker Robert Navarro spoke candidly about the turmoil surrounding his departure from Real Sociedad this summer and his experiences growing up at different clubs. Navarro said that he ultimately decided to leave Real Sociedad because he did not feel the trust they had in him and was worried about the lack of playing opportunities if he stayed with the team. Nevertheless, he still expressed his gratitude to Real Sociedad for their nurturing over the past few years.
Navarro looked excited when talking about his performances in Mallorca and Spain U21. He said that it gave him great pleasure to be able to play well against Hungary and Kazakhstan and help his team to victory. He also emphasized his ability to adapt to multiple positions in front of goal and said that he will give his best whenever he can get playing time.
On his relationship with Real Sociedad, Navarro admits that the rumors and discussions did have an impact on him, but he always stayed focused and tried to be a professional player. He recalled his experiences at clubs such as Real Sociedad, Cadiz and Monaco and thanked the clubs and coaches for their help and guidance. In particular, his experience in Cadiz exposed him to different styles of play and made him a more well-rounded, mature and better player.
Finally, Navarro also spoke about his friends and competition in the U21 national team. He said that despite missing the Paris Olympics, he is happy for the success of his teammates and looks forward to continuing to contribute to the national team in the future. He also expressed his gratitude to Club Mallorca and coach Alassat and looks forward to doing well with the team in La Liga.
