The summer transfer window for the 2023 Chinese Super League season officially opened on July 1 at 0:00 am Beijing time. Each of the 16 teams in the Chinese Super League have their own targets in this summer transfer window and are looking to bring in new players. The main focus of the summer transfer window is likely to be Leonardo's loan to Zhejiang and Alan's return to join Qingdao Sea Cowboys, but Dalian and Shenzhen are unable to bring in reinforcements due to the transfer ban. In addition, the transfer of current national team members is unlikely.

Despite the fact that all 16 teams were required to sign, some teams were issued transfer bans by FIFA, including Dalian Ren and Shenzhen, which were banned from signing by FIFA due to unfinished FIFA proceedings. It was previously reported that Guoan was also subject to a transfer ban, but Guoan has made the final payment and the current transfer ban has been lifted.

Current leaders Shanghai Harbour are unlikely to be brought in as the squad grind is already in place. Shanghai Shenhua, who are second in the table, are also likely to make no moves after bringing in Dai Weijun.

Third-ranked Chengdu Rongcheng is likely to make a reinforcement after core Romulo is out for the season, while Tianjin Jinmen Tiger is unlikely to do so. Shandong Taishan, ranked fifth, has also been reported to bring in a fifth foreign aid, with the target yet to be revealed.

Changchun Yatai also need to strengthen after putting top scorer Leonardo to Zhejiang. With Zhang Yuning and Yang Liyu both suffering serious injuries, Beijing Guoan also need to make up for the fact that the transfer ban has been lifted again.

Regarding the relegated teams, Nantong Zhiyun have announced new additions before the opening of the summer transfer window. While rumors between Qingdao Hainiu and Alan have been swirling for a long time, some sources claim that Alan did not travel to the away game with the team he is currently playing for, and may be coming to China in the near future to complete the transfer formalities.

Regarding current national team players, it is not very likely that they will change teams in the summer transfer window.
