In the history of New China's soccer, Nian Weis is considered a leading figure, excelling as a player, coach and official. at the age of 17, he was selected for the New China men's national soccer team, which took part in the 1956 World Cup outing; in 1954, in order to rapidly improve the level of soccer, the New China decided to send a team to study in Hungary, a socialist soccer powerhouse. At the age of 22, Nieves was one of the 25 students.
