UEFA allowed team captains to wear rainbow armbands at last year's Euros. At the World Cup in Qatar, the German Football Association considered New Zealand and Australia to be LGBTQ+ friendly countries. But if that doesn't materialize, they will wear the sleeves allowed by FIFA.
"We always have the rainbow armband in mind," said German women's soccer head coach Fuchs Tecklenburg. We are in communication with other countries in order to find out how to convey certain messages."
