Lampard is a retired English footballer who played as a midfielder, one of the top midfield stars in world football. Born in the youth system of West Ham United, Lampard played for the English Premier League club Chelsea for thirteen years and was a legend of the club. After retiring, he returned to Chelsea as manager and caretaker manager.
Since joining Chelsea in 2001, Lampard has made his mark, helping Chelsea win the English Premier League, English League Cup and English Community Shield in 2005. In November 2005, Lampard was ranked second in the Mr. European Footballer of the Year election behind Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho. On February 1, 2017, Lampard announced that he was hanging up his boots, ending his years-long professional playing career.
