Henry is a superstar! Henry is a retired French professional footballer who played as a striker and is currently the manager of the France U-23 and France U-21 national soccer teams. He has played for Monaco, Juventus, Arsenal, Barcelona and New York Red Bulls, and during his eight years at Arsenal he became a club legend, holding the team's goalscoring record. He also holds the goalscoring record of the French national team. One of the best French stars in world football.
Henry has received many awards and honors throughout his soccer career. Henry is the only player to have been voted England's Footballer of the Year three times, in 2003, 2004 and 2006[19] and France's Footballer of the Year for four consecutive years. Henry was also named in the Premier League's Outside Player of the Decade squad in 2003, and in 2004 was voted the 125th greatest living footballer in the history of the game by Brazilian footballer Pele.
In the goalscoring category, Henry was the winner of the European Golden Boot in 2004 and 2005 (sharing the honor with Villarreal's Fran in 2005), the first player to win the award back-to-back. Henry was top scorer in the Premier League in four seasons (2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006). In 2006, he became the first player to score more than 20 goals in five consecutive seasons (from 2002 to 2006). Henry is now the third highest goal scorer in Premier League history, behind Newcastle United's Shearer and Manchester United's Cole. With his extraordinary achievements, the French top scorer is considered by many coaches, players and celebrities to be one of the best players in the world.
In November 2007, he was ranked 33rd among the greatest footballers of all time by the Football Statisticians Association. Arsenal fans have great respect for the former goalscorer and voted Henry as Arsenal's greatest ever player in 2008. Henry was voted the most popular Premier League player in the 2008 Barclays Global Fan Report, which was visited by 32,000 people. In 2009, Henry was voted the best Premier League player of the 2000s. On December 10, 2011, Arsenal erected a bronze statue of Henry outside the Emirates Stadium to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the club.
