After England officially announced Tuchel as the team's new manager, Everton manager Dyche gave his thoughts on the matter in an interview. Dyche said that Tuchel is the right man for the job and he confirmed that he has not been interviewed for the England managerial position.
Dyche said, "I have watched England all my life and know the place this team holds in the hearts of the nation. Most people want a homegrown coach to lead the national team, or at least that's the feeling I get when I talk to people at matches. However, with the globalization of the game of soccer, more and more foreign coaches are starting to succeed in national leagues and the game is becoming more and more diverse."
"Against this background, I think Tuchel is the right man for the new England manager. He has achieved notable success at a number of top clubs and has a wealth of tactical nous and coaching experience. I am confident that he can lead England to better results in future competitions."
Dyche also expressed his views on the long process of England's selection. He said: "England's selection process is indeed a long one, they mentioned that 10 interviews were conducted, which makes me feel very interested. I think out of those 10 coaches, there must be some English coaches, but I'm not too sure who exactly. However, what I can say for sure is that I am not among those coaches."
"I have not been asked to clarify this either, but I would like to take this opportunity to make it clear that I was not interviewed for this England managerial position. I respect England's decision and wish Tuchel every success in his future reign."
